The Most Unhealthy Cookbooks Of 2011

Here is an unusual distinction to claim. An article on the Take Part web site warns us about the most unhealthy cookbooks published last year—those that encourage the type of cooking that wrecks your body.

These cookbooks celebrate high-fat, high-cholesterol recipes that will surely shear years off your life. They should have subtitles like “— Die young but enjoy every bite!”

Some people may enjoy living for the moment and all those wonderful tastes (and yes, they are wonderful tastes), but if you care about your heart and don’t need any more stents propping up veins and arteries, take heed.

Wake up to the 21st Century in which we know better than to eat stuff that kills us. You may want to leave these cookbooks on the bookstore shelves.

Jamie Oliver’s Meal in Minutes
Paula Deen’s Southern Cooking Bible
Cook’s Illustrated Cookbook
Guy Fieri Food: Cookin’ It, Livin’ It, Lovin’ It
The Neelys’ Celebration Cookbook

Please go to the link at Take Part.com to see why each cookbook made the list.  I’ve seen some of these people on TV cooking shows and wondered how they can get away with promoting such unhealthy food. Well, sooner or later it catches up with you.
