Fruit Cobbler for Kids

This is a pretty basic fruit cobbler that even kids can make

You will need:
½ cup of margarine or butter (1 short stick)
3/4 cup of milk (Almond milk is great!)
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of self-rising flour
2+ cups of chopped fruit (sweet fruits are best: pears, apples, strawberries, mangoes, persimmons, etc.)
1/2 cup of brown sugar

Preheat the oven to at 350 degrees F.
Melt the margarine or butter in a 2 quart casserole dish and spread over the surface and sides.

In a separate bowl, mix the first sugar and flour well. Add the milk and mix lightly. Do not over mix.
Pour the batter into the casserole dish.
Pour the fruit over the batter.
Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the batter.

Bake for 30 minutes at 350° F.
Serve warm with a la mode (with ice cream) or just by itself.
