Easy Sesame Fish

This recipe is a traditional Asian preparation that is super easy. It can be made with any type of fish, but firmer white fish is very tasty. It’s a great way to use the less expensive fish fillets because the flavors of the sesame oil and soy sauce predominate and give a beautiful roasted look.

Your child can make this easily. It’s always easier to cut the fillets into the serving pieces before cooking.

You Will Need:
Fish fillets (1 per person unless they are large; then cut them in half)
Sesame oil
Chopped Scallions (green onions)
Soy Sauce
Chopped Ginger
Roasted Sesame Seeds

Preheat oven to 350° F. Spray a cookie sheet or cover a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and spray lightly.   Arrange the fish on the cookie sheet.
Lightly drizzle the sesame oil over all the fish and spread it all over the surface of the fish (a little goes a long way).
Sprinkle soy sauce over all the surface. Spread throughout.
Sprinkle the sesame seeds over all the fish surfaces.

If using chopped ginger and scallions, now is the time to sprinkle them over the fish.

Place on the top rack of the oven and bake for 20 minutes if the fillets are thin or longer if thicker. Bake until the fish is cooked throughout. Serve immediately. The oil and soy sauce give a browned look and great flavors!
