Kids After School Snack Recipe

Ants on a Log

This healthy recipe gets fruits and vegetables into your kids after school instead of chips, etc.  Beware not to overdo the peanut butter— it’s filling.  Make only the amount that will carry them until dinner.  You can also use almond butter for a variation!

You will need:

Celery stalks, washed and sliced
Bananas, sliced in half lengthwise
Peanut butter
Raisins, regular or golden raisins

Clean the celery sticks and cut them into smaller pieces (2 inches are good for a kids).   Peel the bananas and slice them, lengthwise, then cut into shorter pieces as with the celery.

Spread with peanut butter and places the raisins every so often for the “ant” effect.  The ants can also be chocolate chips for a sweet snack.

Serve with almond milk.
